This policy explains what cookies are, which cookies we use on adaptiveask.net, why we use them, and how you can manage your choices. Our website is compliant with the GDPR, the ePrivacy Directive, and the Serbian Electronic Communications Act.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device (computer, tablet, phone) when you visit it. Cookies cannot run programs or deliver viruses to your device. The only information a cookie can contain is information you yourself send, or information generated by your interaction with the site.
There are several types of cookies by duration: session cookies (deleted when you close your browser) and persistent cookies (remain on your device until they expire or are manually deleted). By origin we distinguish first-party cookies (set directly by our site) and third-party cookies (set by an external service).
2. Which cookies we use
On adaptiveask.net we use the following categories of cookies:
2.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies (always active)
These cookies are essential for the correct functioning of the site and cannot be disabled without affecting usability. They do not collect personal data for tracking purposes.
- aa_consent — stores your cookie choice (accept / reject). Duration: 365 days. Origin: AdaptiveAsk (first party).
- PHPSESSID / session — standard server session cookie. Duration: session. Origin: first party.
2.2 Analytical Cookies (require consent)
We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors move through the site. These cookies collect information in anonymised form — they do not identify you as an individual.
- _ga — distinguishes website users. Duration: 2 years. Origin: Google LLC (third party).
- _ga_[ID] — stores session state. Duration: 2 years. Origin: Google LLC (third party).
- _gid — distinguishes users, short-lived. Duration: 24 hours. Origin: Google LLC (third party).
- _gat — used to throttle request rate. Duration: 1 minute. Origin: Google LLC (third party).
Google Analytics is configured with the following privacy measures: IP address anonymisation, data sharing with Google for advertising disabled, and the application of Consent Mode v2 — meaning analytical cookies are activated only if you have given consent.
2.3 Marketing Cookies (require consent)
We currently do not use remarketing or targeted advertising cookies on this site. If that changes in the future, this policy will be updated and your consent will be requested again.
3. Google Consent Mode v2
Our site implements Google Consent Mode v2, which means:
- If you accept cookies — GA4 operates normally and collects data about your session in anonymised form.
- If you decline cookies — GA4 switches to "signal mode": it does not set cookies, but Google may use anonymous aggregated signals for modelling traffic (without identifying your device or person). This is a lawful form of processing and does not require consent because it does not involve personal data.
4. How to give or withdraw consent
When you first visit our site, we show you a cookie consent banner giving you a clear opportunity to accept or decline analytical cookies. Your choice is stored in the aa_consent cookie.
You can withdraw consent at any time in the following ways:
- By deleting cookies in your browser settings (see section 5)
- By contacting us at kontakt@adaptiveask.net with a request to delete analytical data
Please note that withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.
5. Managing cookies in your browser
In addition to our consent option, you can control and block cookies directly through your browser settings. Please be aware that blocking all cookies may affect the functioning of certain parts of the site.

6. Third-party cookies
The third-party cookies we use (Google Analytics) are subject to the privacy policies of those companies. We recommend reading the Google Privacy Policy for a full understanding of how Google processes data. Google LLC is signed up to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, which provides an adequate level of protection for data transfers.
7. Changes to the Cookie Policy
We may periodically update this policy to reflect changes in the technologies we use or legal requirements. The date of the last update is always indicated at the top of the document. For material changes (e.g. introducing new categories of cookies), we will ask for your consent again.
